Advocacy and policy encompass a wide range of activities that influence decision makers. In the tech world, policy is defined as a set of government actions that affect the use of technological knowledge in a way that the government deems useful for the society rather than individuals. In short, tech policy is where technologists and policymakers should meet and solve many of the world’s problems. Technology, strategy, advocacy, and policy should never be separated. Our work in advocacy and policy allows us to speak in favor of, recommend, argue for a cause, support, defend, and plead on behalf of others. The lack of representation and void in the technology, strategic foresight and innovation space must be addressed. Our core pillars set the foundation for our purpose around policy and advocacy work. Our advocacy work is personal, and we truly believe it is our duty to always act and speak on the behalf of or in support of another person, place, or organization who feels like their voice is not heard.
